Shetland (6U) Rules Amendments
The following rules amendments can be found in our league Policies, Procedures, & Rules document. These were last updated on February 15, 2023.
8.5.1 The entire team may play in the field.
8.5.2 No player shall remain on the bench for more than one inning
8.5.3 To encourage rotation of players, no player shall remain at the same defensive position for more than two innings
8.5.4 Coaches may pitch to players who they feel can hit a pitched ball
8.5.5 Coaches may pitch to the batters from any location from which they feel comfortable pitching.
8.5.6 If a coach pitches a ball, the batter gets 3 pitches to hit the ball. If the batter does not put the ball in play after 3 pitches, the tee must be used.
8.5.7 The ball shall be hit off a tee located on or in front of home plate.
8.5.8 The home umpire/coach shall remove the tee after each hit and shall replace it there after the play stops.
8.5.9 Base runners are allowed to stay on base, even if a defensive out is made on the base runner.
8.5.10 Base runners are not permitted to steal or leadoff base and shall remain in contact with the base until the ball is hit.
8.5.11 Changing rules for t-ball is allowed upon mutual agreement of both coaches.
8.5.12 Regulation games shall be four innings in duration and no new inning shall start after one hour and fifteen minutes from the scheduled start time of the game. (Note: For 2023, games will be three innings or one hour, whichever comes first.)
8.5.13 No official score will be kept for t-ball.
8.5.14 Time shall be called immediately in case of an injury- no further play. Batter and runners stop at the last base legally touched unless forced to the next base.
